Senior Account Executive

Job Summary:

King + Co, a full-service public relations and marketing communications agency with an exceptional track record and excellent client list in the national nonprofit community is seeking a highly motivated Senior Account Executive (SAE) who is skilled in writing and project management, and who is looking to grow these and other skills while learning about the world of media relations and nonprofit marketing. Reporting to the Senior Vice President, the SAE will participate in the full range of the firm’s work, providing critical communications and media relations support to all clients.

Our ideal candidate has a strong interest in social and health advocacy awareness campaigns and loves to pitch media. This individual must have excellent writing and story development skills, in addition to experience executing strategic public and media relations plans. Attention to detail and an ability to prioritize and manage multiple accounts in a fast-paced, team and deadline-driven environment are also essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead two – three priority accounts and provide support on others
  • Play an active role in the planning and development of strategic communications programs
  • Proactive media relations to achieve quality, high-impact placements on a regular basis
  • Write and edit various communications materials that meet client objectives, including press releases, talking points, bios, FAQs, media pitches, byline articles and related items
  • Supervise junior staff by motivating, coaching and consistently providing feedback
  • Participate in ongoing client calls, brainstorms and attend in-person meetings and events
  • Build and enhance relationships with key members of the media
  • Understand the client’s overall business objectives and develop strategies in order to effectively promote specific awareness campaigns
  • Stay abreast of news/trends/issues that are relevant to clients and the broader landscape

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience working in communications/public relations; agency or non-profit
  • Interest in working with non-profit, health-focused accounts is essential
  • Strong writing skills and experience developing compelling pitches, press releases and contributed articles
  • Ability to take initiative, proactively pitch and anticipate client needs
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills; able to work quickly under pressure, handling and prioritizing multiple assignments while consistently meeting deadlines
  • Strong understanding of traditional and non-traditional PR tactics
  • Creative and energetic personality
  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-up
  • Relationships with regional & national consumer, lifestyle, health and nonprofit press is a plus
  • Previous healthcare/life science/pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred
  • Social media savvy is a plus

PR Intern, Non-Profit Health and Social Causes

We have an immediate opening for an Intern to work on nationally recognized non-profit health and wellness accounts. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and highly organized team player.

This is an unpaid, hands-on internship that will provide training and experience as you work alongside seasoned professionals supporting prestigious national non-profit, health/wellness, consumer and corporate social responsibility brands. You must be able to gain college credit towards graduation for this internship.
